Trivia

Somehow we’re still talking about the legitimacy of Barack Obama’s citizenship, and it’s beginning to look like one of those things that some among us will always be talking about (you know, like how Bill Clinton killed Vince Foster, or how George Bush brought down the World Trade Center). So to distract ourselves from the rage blackouts that occur every time one fringe wingnut’s pet peeve jumps the tracks and gets covered by mainstream media, here’s a fun piece of birther trivia.

Alexander Hamilton is rumored to have dreamed of the presidency, though he was ineligible for office because he was born in the British West Indies. However, George Washington was born in the British colony of Virginia, while John Adams was born in the British province of Massachusetts.

So who was the first president actually born in the United States of America?
