Missed Connections

Maybe if I hadn’t hit the snooze button. Maybe if I hadn’t checked Twitter in bed. Maybe if I hadn’t stopped to count my gray hairs in the mirror. Maybe if I hadn’t danced naked in my room to the entirety of New Order’s “Temptation”. Maybe if I hadn’t had that cigarette. Maybe if I hadn’t stopped for coffee. Maybe if I hadn’t ended up in line behind a woman ordering four half-caff no-foam soy vanilla cappuccinos.

Maybe I wouldn’t have missed that train.
