I don’t know if anyone should be surprised by Lesley Arfin’s ostensibly offensive tweet earlier today (link to Cord Jefferson’s blog because the tweet has since been deleted).

This tweet, made seven months ago, is one of the worst kinds of insidious bullshit because no matter how you try to spin the joke (“it’s funny because I’m a white girl”), the punchline is still some caricature of black women.

I don’t know about you guys but I’m SUPER EXCITED to watch the next episode of ‘Girls’ now knowing they’ve got such exceptional talent on staff.
