The first Web page, from Tim Berners-Lee, August 1991 A lovely proof of concept, but it could really use a couple of overlaid transparent Flash ads, some SnapShots on all those links, a pop-up dictionary triggered by text clicks—and its readability would be greatly enhanced if only it were split up over five or six separate pages (makes printing easier, too).
